So, one divorce and one "just want to be friends" later, my summer is going like gangbusters...

Since Nobody Reads This Anyway...

Thought I'd bring back this journal by saying that I suck. F and I are getting a divorce. Long time coming.

Problem: I have liked my friend S for a long time. When my behavior started to get into the grey area a few years back, I stopped hanging out with him or his roommate for a while. Seemed to make things okay. Then I really worked on my marriage, but I was too slow and it was too late. Now, I am all about my friend again. I haven't even moved out yet, but my brain has moved on! I am sex/affection-starved and only want him. However, I also don't want to hurt him by not being serious. And I'm afraid either I shouldn't be for a while to give myself some recovery time or I will just fuck him over by going after him too soon. I do not want to ruin our friendship, but I'm not sure I'll ever be content just being friends. Not to mention I can't figure out if he likes me and it has made me a crazy bitch with a serious schoolgirl crush.

Holy crap, what is wrong with me...

Sorry...Again

Wow. Sorry, you guys. I'm totally neglecting this blog. I guess I just haven't wanted to talk about me lately. The party is really on my LJ blog. However, I don't do daily life stuff over there, so...

Went to an Oscar party last night. Had a lot of fun. I suck at picking Oscar winners, though.

Work is better, but still in a state of flux. With winter hours, there's a lot of bitching and whining. The real problem is that some people are basically being given new jobs without those "new jobs" being posted so anyone else can have a chance. I mean, thank goodness some people are being guaranteed hours while educators, who actually teach the programs, are just scraping by. That's all I should really say about that.

Some of you know that our most recent baby elephant died. Her mother had some serious complications from labor and couldn't really nurse the baby. We couldn't get the baby adjusted to formula and she got weaker and weaker. In her compromised state, she picked up a drug-resistant Staph infection, among other medical problems. Poor baby.

On the other hand, we have 7 healthy baby lion cubs right now and they are so cute all on exhibit together. In education, we also got a new pygmy falcon, named Maximus (haha). He's still getting used to everything, but he is sweet and friendly and I can't wait to snuggle him. Right now I'm snuggling Opossums. I recently finished training with a Great Horned Owl.

Quiet Birthday

For my birthday, we had a double feature. Went to see the Dead Sea Scrolls. Very cool exhibit, though I wish they had a couple of the secular scrolls (writings about daily life, etc.), instead of all biblical scrolls. Still, very interesting.

Also went up to D&J's for some football watchin' on their Sunday Ticket. Very pleasant day with them and their puppies.

Another new baby elephant, this one born Wednesday. Then we get a break. We might have another one pregnant, but as she is not far enough along for them to actually tell us, it's on the DL. So, for those of you keeping track:

That means the herd of 7 that came in 2003 has almost doubled already. This is why they came to us. Swaziland had an elephant overpopulation. Give the newest ones around 10 years and they will have at least 2 more siblings each and will be at the very beginning of possibly being able to breed themselves. That's a lot of elephants.

I just looked at my ClusterMaps dealybajigger and it has reset! I used to have someone who had visited me from every continent. I was so cool!!

Well, I guess I know how much you all love me now. Course, it would help if I'd actually write something once in a while...

Thank Goodness for Fourth Grade

Well, at least I can do one thing on this site. It would have been faster if I could type faster and if I could have remembered how to spell Minnesota right. Try the Asia one. My problem is I have no idea how to spell most of the old Soviet states.
